Already the sky was breathing in autumn,

The sun shone less

Fog fell on the fields

Geese noisy caravan

Stretched to the south: approaching

Analysis of Pushkin's poem "Already the sky was breathing in autumn ..."

The poem "Already the sky was breathing in autumn ..." is a must for studying in elementary school. Children in the second grade listen to these lines and with their help they are imbued with the magical atmosphere of Russian autumn. In addition, this work allows students to appreciate the poetic talent of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin.

Interestingly, despite its wide popularity, this poem is not an independent work. It is a fragment of stanza XL of the fourth chapter of the novel "Eugene Onegin". This passage has an unusual fate. It was created between October 1824 and January 1825. Originally the next part
Already the sky was breathing in autumn,
The sun shone less...
was placed in stanza XXIV, but then the poet moved it to the fortieth stanza.

Already from the above lines, the reader can note how various poetic techniques the author used to convey his enthusiastic awe when contemplating the autumn beauties. The anaphora in this fragment emphasizes how inexorably nature changes, how summer fades away.

These lines show the poet's love for his homeland. Notice how affectionately Alexander Sergeevich calls heavenly body"sun", as if it were a native living being for the author. Even the author's sky is animated. If in other works heaven acts as a decoration for more important events, then in Pushkin it is itself a character. It inhales smells to concentrate them and convey them to the poet enjoying the autumn views.

The epithets used in the work deserve detailed consideration. Expressions that the poet selects for the image natural phenomena, allow the reader to easily imagine these things. Here, for example, the phrase "forests mysterious canopy." Thanks to a spectacular epithet, we can see with our mind's eye the once impenetrable thicket, gradually losing dense foliage and acquiring vagueness and transparency. Our hearing brings to us an indistinct rustling, described by the poet as a "sad noise", with which the curved branches of trees are exposed.

Attention should be paid to the metaphor with which the author describes the flock of birds:
Noisy geese caravan
Moved south...

Such an expression is not expected to be found in relation to geese, because it is usually used only in relation to beasts of burden. The word "caravan" itself supposedly comes from the Sanskrit "camel" (according to another version, "elephant"). But this metaphor very accurately conveys the impression of a long chain of birds that have fattened over the summer, slowly moving across the sky.

The autumn month, mentioned at the end of the poem, also acts as an independent hero. An animated November is reminiscent of an impatient unexpected guest who is waiting at the door: “November was already at the yard.”

This poem is an excellent example of Pushkin's landscape lyrics. In it, amazing pictures are presented with the help of spectacular literary techniques, thanks to which the reader is easily imbued with the mood of Russian autumn.

The poetic sketch “Already the sky was breathing in autumn” is a small excerpt from the novel “Eugene Onegin”, which has become an independent poem. The sketch is written in the genre of a lyrical landscape, and depicts a picture of autumn - the season that Pushkin loved so much. At this time, according to the poet himself, he always wrote especially easily.

As an artist creates his picture with short strokes, so Pushkin paints his poetic sketches with words. This stanza in the composition serves as an exposition, a description of the season in which the events of the chapter took place. It is written in a simple and expressive language, and fits into 10 lines out of 14 Onegin stanzas. In this short verse, adjacent and ring rhymes are used, feminine alternating with masculine.

Already the sky was breathing in autumn - just one metaphor, and the reader sees a gray sky, covered with clouds, and ready to pour rain at any moment.

The sun shone less
The day was getting shorter.

These lines are connected. The days have become shorter, and therefore the sun appears less often in the sky.

Forests mysterious canopy
She stripped naked with a sad noise.

Apparently, Mikhailovskoye was surrounded by deciduous forests, the wind noisily tore the leaves from the trees. In another description of autumn, there are other lines that say the same thing.

The transparent forest alone turns black,
And the spruce turns green through the frost.

The forest became transparent because the leaves flew around, and through the branches the only green spruce is visible somewhere. Let's return to our description of the autumn landscape.

Noisy geese caravan
Stretched to the south: approaching
Pretty boring time.
November was already at the yard.

Apparently, Pushkin loved autumn September with its velvet summer and motley October, and November, more like winter, bored him, like most of the inhabitants of the county. Although autumn boredom did not interfere with the poet's work. The best works were created in the fall (for example, the famous one), the most beautiful and kind lines are dedicated to this time of the year, with the exception of love poetry, certainly.

Already the sky was breathing in autumn,

The sun shone less

The day was getting shorter

Forests mysterious canopy

With a sad noise she was naked,

Fog fell on the fields

Geese noisy caravan

Stretched to the south: approaching

Pretty boring time;

November was already at the yard.

Before us is one of the brilliant examples of landscape lyrics by A.S. Pushkin. In his works, the author often returns to the description of nature, in particular, autumn. Reading the written lines, a complete feeling is created that Alexander Sergeevich not only admires autumn, but also feels nature somehow deeply, in a special way.

It is interesting that it is autumn that is marked in the poet's biography as the most fruitful time. The brightness of colors, the atmosphere of this season inspired the author to work actively.

The landscape sketch plunges the reader into a beautiful autumn season. A lot of speech turns create a concise, but capacious image of nature. Each word is chosen with such care that it gives the reader a stable associative array. A colossal number of epithets conveys not only the autumn mood, but also lifts the curtain on the poet's state of mind. And, despite the fading nature, each line is saturated with tremulous and joyful expectation of the arrival of a fabulous and no less beloved by the author of winter.

Remember the poem by A.S. Pushkin?

Already the sky was breathing in autumn,
The sun shone less
The day was getting shorter
Forests mysterious canopy
With a sad noise she was naked,
Fog fell on the fields
Noisy geese caravan
Stretched to the south: approaching
Pretty boring time;
November was already at the yard.

More precisely, you can’t say.
Boring, dull, cold November.
On Saturday, the dense gray sky was repeatedly broken through by snow whirlwinds, it became cold, the snow did not melt. It seemed that the sun would not soon please nature with its light. However, Sunday morning was not only cold, but also clear. And my friends invited me to take a walk in the water meadows near Zhelnino, Dzerzhinsk and Reshetikha.

We left the car and went along the road completely killed by jeeps. If it were not for the frosts of the last days, then it would be problematic to pass here. Now the mud had frozen into stone, so we moved quite quickly towards the meadows.

There are many rivers, lakes and, of course, fishermen in these parts.

But it's not so simple. It turned out that a small dam of a local spill was washed away by water. The thin log for the crossing did not inspire any confidence in me at all. Moreover, part of it was covered with ice. I squeaked, grumbled and generally refused to go forward. But this is such a refusal when you already know that you still have to cross this damn river on this damn log. So that I would not be too cowardly, my comrades threw more small logs next to me. I didn't have an exit.

Ice bells near the crossing.
2.

And here is the meadow ahead. What a dull sight appeared before my eyes: a crushed sedge, sprinkled with snow in some places; frost-scorched foliage underfoot; bare trees and the color of dirty straw everywhere. Only the blue sky brought some variety to the picture.

At some point, I began to dream about just getting on a normal rolled road, which we did anyway, and went to the backwater. On the other side you can see Khabarskoye - the local ski resort. And the church of Michael the Archangel next to it.

As always, we did not calculate the time for the return trip. This was partly facilitated by the fisherman, who confused us and sent us to another crossing. There was no crossing, we had to return to the dam. But half an hour was lost. They arrived in total darkness. And the return transition was even more extreme than the daytime one, because. I didn't really see where to go. But for some reason, I dealt with it more easily.

We walked to the car in silence, we didn’t feel like talking anymore, we wanted to come quickly and drink hot tea.

When they arrived, I took out a bottle of water to wash my hands. The bottle crackled. There was no water in it: everything froze. But she poured hot. She shook out the rest of the ice on the ground and got into the car to drink tea with sweets.
Such a glorious November Sunday I had yesterday.

PS: Today I was told that they walked about 15 km in total. Wow, only 15. And fatigue was 25.))
