Floral motif of Zhostovo TRAYS The main motif of Zhostovo painting is a floral bouquet, in which large garden and small wildflowers alternate. The picturesque rendering of the real shape of the painted flower is combined with the magnificent decorative brilliance of the color scheme itself.

Slide 8

In Zhostovo they write on a black, red, yellow, blue, green background, but the most common, “classic” one is black. Typically, large flowers painted in bright colors are placed in the center. Small ones are drawn along the edges of the tray; they are made slightly darkened and seem to blend into the background. As a result of this painting, both flowers and leaves seem to protrude from the depths, which gives the painting a special beauty.

Slide 9

LEARNING TO DRAWFulfillment of elements of the floral motif of Zhostovo painting (using blanks)

Painting is performed using free brush stroke techniques, without preliminary drawing. The volumes of flowers and leaves seem to grow from the depths of the background. This is done by gradually moving from dark tones to lighter ones. Multi-layer painting is distinguished by the careful depiction of each element of the motif and a subtle color scheme. In Zhostovo painting, flowers seem to come to life.

Writing on the board: Zhostovo bouquet.

Teacher: Not far from Moscow, in a very picturesque place, is the village of Zhostovo. Everyone knows this village - not only in our country, but also abroad. It is famous for the fact that no one knows how to paint flowers on iron trays better than those local craftsmen. The craft appeared at the beginning of the 19th century. At this time, an overseas drink, tea, was widespread in Rus'. And now a whole ritual has arisen - tea drinking, in which trays have become indispensable participants.

In Moscow, in rich houses there were painted metal trays, but they were made in the Urals or St. Petersburg. But one day, craftsmen near Moscow transferred the technology of varnish processing of papier-mâché boxes to iron, the same primers, varnishes and oil paints. In old books they found a record that in 1925, local peasant Philip Vishnyakov and his son opened their own workshop. Following them, Belyaev, Tsyganov and others opened their workshops. What kind of trays did the craftsmen make! And large ones - “skaters” and small “snack bars”.

And these trays had very different shapes: oval, rectangular, round and even triangular for triangular tables! The patterns of flower bouquets on trays are pleasing to the eye!

Zhostovo is not easy for you
Village near Moscow.
The skilled craftsmen there
They have been famous since ancient times.
Freshness of the morning, pearls grew
And the bloom of summer
Poured onto a tray
The colors of the bouquet. (V. Borisova)

The black background shines with varnish.
And there are beautiful flowers on it,
Scarlet, yellow with red poppy -
These are simply miracles.
The bells have blossomed
Forget-me-nots stood in a row
Sparkled, sparkled
Look at everything!
Scarlet roses on a tray
All nature is God's gift,
There are no such trays in the world
They are like a spring garden!

The main motif of Zhostovo painting is a flower bouquet. The bouquet can contain wildflowers and garden flowers. These can be dahlias and roses, daisies and cornflowers, lilies, apple flowers. Flowers on Zhostovo trays are not placed chaotically, but in order: large in the center, medium, small at the edges.

Question: What is depicted on all the presented trays?

Answer: Flower bouquets.

Question: How are the flowers arranged on the trays?

Answer: There are large ones in the center, and smaller ones at the edges.

Question: What shape are the trays?

Answer: Round, oval.

Guys, today you will try to draw an apple tree flower (cinquefoil).

Question: What time of year does the apple tree bloom?

Answer: In the spring.

Question: How many petals does an apple tree flower have?

1. Before the artist begins to paint the tray blank, it is covered with paint: red, green, yellow, blue, but most often black. This stage is called "priming".

2. The next stage is called “Zamalevok”. This is the beginning of the future pattern. We apply silhouettes of flowers and leaves.

3. At the “Shadow” stage - from the word “shadow” - we apply colored shadows with translucent paints, and the flowers gain volume.

4. Then the “Laying” stage is the most critical stage. The shape of the bouquet takes on details.

5. Stage “Glare” - the application of glare, the bouquet seems illuminated, the glare creates the mood.

6. “Drawing” - the final stage of working with the bouquet. Using a thin brush, paint the veins on the leaves and the center of the flowers.

8. The final stage “Cleaning” - the side of the tray is decorated with a floral pattern. It can be modest, or it can be more intense

Teacher: And now we will learn how to perform the stages of painting a Zhostovo bouquet the way folk craftsmen do.

To make the flower even, you can rotate the saucer so that the cinquefoil is always positioned with the heart facing down.

In the process of independent work, the teacher provides children with creative freedom, providing individual assistance. You can turn on soft folk music. At the end of the lesson there is an exhibition. The children place their works on a special stand and, together with the teacher, choose the best works. The teacher does not forget to praise each student and note what they did best in the toy.

Question: What folk craft did we meet today?

Answer: With Zhostovo painting.

Question: What elements of Zhostovo painting can we paint?

Answer: Cinquefoil, leaf.

Question: What products are painted on?

Answer: It is performed on metal trays.

The basis of Zhostovo painting is a rich, free brush stroke. The Zhostovo master does not work from samples. He writes from his imagination, according to well-learned rules, honed in the long practice of many generations of local artists. The classic style of Zhostovo art involves several flower compositions: “Assembled Bouquet”, “Bouquet in Spread”, “Wreath”, “Branch from the Corner”, in which large and small flowers, leaves, buds, and stems appear in harmonious unity.

The most common type of Zhostovo painting is a bouquet, located in the center of the tray and framed along the side with a small golden pattern. In compositions, a lot of space is given to a smooth background, which has a beautiful surface that plays effectively in the light. The image of flowers is particularly soft and rounded in design. The bouquet turns into an elegant group of flowers, laid loosely on a shiny lacquer background. Three or four large flowers (rose, tulip, dahlia, and sometimes more modest pansies, bindweed, etc.) were surrounded by a scattering of smaller flowers and buds, interconnected by flexible stems and light “grass,” that is, small twigs and leaves. The image seems to be born from the shimmering depth, dissolving in it with transparent shadows and flashing with bright highlights on the surface. Slightly “recessed” in the background, the flowers seem light, semi-volume; tactfully, these angles and turns of the corollas did not visually break through the plane of the object. Masters know how to find beautiful and expressive outlines of the bouquet as a whole. The top often ends with two or three branches that smoothly and widely diverge to the sides, the curves of which follow the shape of the thing itself. Light patterned lace from a variety of “grass” surrounds the bouquet at the edges, fitting it into the smooth background. 1. Making trays When creating trays of a standard shape, sheets of metal are cut into blanks of a certain size. The tray is cut out and stretched into shape on an electric press using a combined stamp and molds, then the tray is beaded, i.e. its edges are rolled up. Forged trays are created by hand forging by farriers according to an old artisanal tradition: the shape and size of the tray depend on the creative variation of the farrier. Using hand scissors, a bracket of 3-5 metal cards is cut out, then using a hammer and anvil, the shape is knocked out and stretched. The edge of the tray is rolled up with a wire embedded in it to strengthen it, after which the edge is leveled on an anvil with a hammer. 2. Preparation for painting Annealing, degreasing, priming, applying black enamel in two or three layers with intermediate drying of each layer, sanding each layer of enamel manually using sandpaper. 3. Artistic painting Zhostovo masters paint with oil paints diluted with linseed oil and turpentine. Squirrel tassels are used. Zhostovo painting is performed in two stages. The first stage of writing is called shading, the second - straightening. Painting. In the painting, the artist uses a wide brush to sketch out the composition of the bouquet on the working surface of the tray. Painting is carried out without preliminary drawing with dense, somewhat whitened paints simultaneously on several trays. When creating a bouquet, the artist rotates the tray on his knees, as if substituting the desired area of its surface under the brush. At the same time, it is necessary to monitor the beauty and expressiveness of the silhouette of flowers, buds, leaves and stems, the rhythmic arrangement of colorful spots, and the ratio of the scale of the painting and the background of the tray. The paint is dried in ovens for twelve hours at a certain temperature. Bearing. Straightening consists of a series of operations following one after another: shadowing, laying, highlighting, drawing, planting seeds and binding. 4. Applying an ornament The sides of the trays are decorated with light, openwork floral patterns. 5. Finishing Two or three layers of varnish are applied to the painting product with intermediate drying of each layer in drying cabinets at a certain temperature for two hours and cleaning of each layer before applying the varnish.
